Instructors are required to join the AHA Instructor Network and request alignment with an AHA Training Center. Instructor will have their alignment approved after completing their Instructor Course. Course Monitoring A CPR Seattle Training Center Faculty must monitor instructor candidates teaching an actual CPR class before receiving an instructor card. Candidates must enroll in a Heartsaver within 6 months of their instructor course.

If the candidate does not complete the course monitoring session within 6 months of completing the instructor training, the instructor course must be taken again. Skills covered in this course include first aid; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. This course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills.
